Xiaomi Pocophone F1 : Complete Details ( In-Depth)

We have heard of Xiaomi Pocophone F1 for some time and after announcing the launch of the new brand, the company has confirmed that the Little F1 smartphone will be launched on August 22nd. Although the phone has not yet been officially announced, almost the entire device, in addition to price and availability, has already been confirmed thanks to the dealers who sell the device before its launch. According to what has been learned so far, it is not difficult to compare the Poco brand and the Pocophone F1 with the OnePlus brand and the OnePlus 6 brand respectively. But before deciding which smartphone you will receive, you must first know more about the new phone. Here's everything we know of the Pocophone F1 so far: Xiaomi's flagship Snapdragon 845 for India.

Xiaomi Pocophone F1 Design

A classic Xiaomi approach, the Pocophone looks more like a device in the Xiaomi Redmi Note line. The device renderers were disseminated in advance thanks to the Romanian PC Garage site, but unboxing videos were also detected. Here are some renderings extracted from PC Garage.

The body seems made of hard plastic, so here there are no glasses. Very few Xiaomi devices support wireless charging (only Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, in fact). In addition to this, we have rounded the sides and corners with a dual camera configuration and a fingerprint sensor below that. An LED flash is located right next to the two camera sensors.

The 5.9-inch screen features a large X-style iPhone slot with a rather large chin at the bottom. Personally, I feel that changing the screen a little and completely removing the notch would make more sense, but it's possible that the company has a reason for that design decision. The screen has rounded corners, like many other iconic devices published in 2018. The design of the device has all the classic distinctive signs of 2018 along with the Xiaomi style. This is the first phone of the Little brand to be launched, so it is possible (if this particular phone is successful) that future smartphones will follow a similar design language.

Xiaomi Pocophone F1 Specifications

In terms of specifications, the cat is practically out of the bag in this case. Being a flagship, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-on-chip system. The PC Garage leaks confirm that, along with the filtered unboxing videos that have begun to appear on the Internet.

Interestingly, Xiaomi seems to announce a "liquid cooling system" that provides "industry-leading thermal performance". Perhaps there is a combination of a heat pipe and a steam chamber that are used here and not liquid cooling in the conventional sense. A similar approach has been adopted with the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note 9. It's not much, but it's better than most passive cooling systems used by smartphones. Together with Snapdragon 845, we will get 6 GB of RAM with Xiaomi Pocophone F1.

The IPS LCD screen has a resolution of 5.99 inches 1080 × 2246, which is 416PPI. It will be perfect for multimedia consumption and the 1080p screen ensures that the games run smoothly. A lower screen resolution means less pixels for rendering the Adreno 630 GPU, which in turn leads to better performance. Like any other Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 device, Xiaomi Pocophone F1 will handle any modern game like Fortnite Mobile. And thanks to a 4,000 mAh battery, the phone should easily last a full day of average use.

Xiaomi Pocophone F1 cameras

Xiaomi has put a lot of emphasis on their cameras lately, and a good camera does a lot to break into the mainstream. However, the camera hardware of the filtered specifications does not suggest anything special about this device. It seems to be composed of a 12MP shooter (f / 1.75) and a 5MP shooter, and also announces a dual-pixel autofocus mode. The front camera also appears to be a 20MP (f / 2.0) sensor and can support an infrared face release, similar to iPhone X and Xiaomi Mi 8. The case also mentions a "dual AI camera" configuration. What AI means in this context is hard to say, but given industry trends, it is likely to be a form of scene recognition. While the camera hardware looks good, we will have to wait for some sample images to appear before releasing a trial version.

Xiaomi Pocophone F1 software

Since this is a flagship of Xiaomi, MIUI 9.6 will run based on Android 8.1 Oreo. We are surprised that the device does not run MIUI 10, although it is likely that we will see an update of that version shortly after launch. We know that the code name of the device is "beryllium" for several months and it seems that the company has already started internal testing of Android Pie versions for this device. Since Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is already approaching its stable launch of Android Pie, this should not be a big surprise.

Finally, there is probably very little that prevents you from unlocking the boot loader. Given the price of the device and the availability of the market, we hope it will be very popular in our forums. But how much is it?

Release, price and availability of Xiaomi Pocophone F1

Roland Quandt of WinFuture tweeted the prices of Xiaomi Pocophone F1. Warning Spoiler: This device is one of the cheapest Snapdragon 845 devices to date. According to him, the price could vary between 420 euros for the storage model of 6 GB of RAM / 64 GB and 460 euros for the storage model of 6 GB of RAM / 128 GB. The conversion of these prices gives us $ 478 or Rs 33,500 and $ 523 or Rs 36,700. It could also be cheaper, since Roland Quandt claims to have seen a price below 390 euros. Obviously, these prices are not confirmed, but they are probably not very far from how much it would cost. This puts it below the price of OnePlus 6, which competes with the Pocophone F1.

But where will the Pocophone F1 be sold? It is quite clear that it will be sold in India because of recent announcements on the Poco brand, but we will probably see it all over Europe, given the number of European journalists and bloggers who have been able to get one. However, the European countries that will receive the device have not yet been confirmed. We could see it in all the countries where Xiaomi collaborated with Three in, and the association could have focused on this. While Xiaomi could not keep the Pocophone F1 secret, its availability around the world remained largely secret.

And when will the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 be launched? We will see it announced on August 22, as the company has scheduled an event for that day. This adds to the vast amount of information that is lost and makes sense only that we will see it sooner rather than later. We will be alert to any surprise at the last minute, but it seems that practically everything is in sight for the moment.
