There are many expectations that Reliance Jio will lower broadband rates in India with the launch of Jio GigaFiber by the end of the year. The effect will go beyond broadband services as Reliance Jio will offer a combined package that includes TV, broadband and landline connections. Reliance Jio has already changed the game in the mobile phone sector after reducing the costs of mobile data and the cost of calls to mobile phones.

At its annual general meeting of the company (AGM) last month, the president of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Mukesh Ambani had promised to increase the penetration of broadband services in India with the launch of Jio GigaFiber. No charges have yet been announced for the release date or the Jio GigaFiber plan. Speculation abounds that Reliance Jio will provide services in plans starting at 500 rupees. The line-based fiber-optic broadband will offer a download rate of 1 Gbps per second.

Reliance Jio will soon be launched in 1,100 cities in India. The tests have already been conducted in several cities to ensure that the distribution is simple and hassle-free.

Why is it important to register with Reliance Jio GigaFiber?

Reliance Jio asks all interested parties to use the Jio broadband service to register on the registration page of their website, which started working today. Doing it is just an expression of interest in getting Jio GigaFiber and it does not mean that you have registered as a Jio GigaFiber customer. Furthermore, you do not have to buy Reliance Jio's broadband service after its launch.

But there is still a reason why registration is important. Jio says that more people apply from a particular position, before that area will get JioGigaFiber. What Reliance Jio will do will be to prioritize its dissemination based on the demand factor.
