Apple has finally released the iOS 12.1 update to enable dual SIM functionality on iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. Unlike Android smartphones, where you get two physical SIM card slots, Apple's dual SIM function works differently around the world, except in China.
The latest Apple iPhone users have the option of a physical SIM and an eSIM as part of the dual SIM functionality, although from now on Reliance Jio and Airtel offer the eSIM option. Apple mentioned Vodafone during the iPhone launch presentation, but unfortunately the company has not yet provided eSIM services.
It goes without saying that the physical option of the Nano-SIM card works the same way as any other phone, but the eSIM option is generally enabled from the operator side. Here's how to enable dual SIM on your iPhone XS, XS Max and iPhone XR if you're on Airtel.
Steps to enable dual SIM on iPhone XS, XS Max and XR:
First step:
To get started, update your phone to iOS 12.1
Second step:
Send a text message to 121 - Enter "eSIM" <space> "Registered e-mail ID" (if you do not have registered e-mail, contact customer service first to register).

Third three:
After the SMS, you will receive an email from Airtel which will have a QR code
Fourth four:
Scan this QR code using your iPhone by going to Settings> Mobile> Add mobile plan. (Alternatively, you can also install these values manually).
Subsequently, iPhone users will receive a confirmation SMS from Airtel and will be asked to respond with consent for the activation of eSIM.
To take into account, the three Apple iPhones, iPhone XS, XS Max and iPhone XR, consider the physical Nano-SIM as the primary by default and eSIM as secondary. But if you want to change the order of these SIM cards, you can configure them from the Settings menu.
